Copy matrix into N Dimensional array

Folks,
How do I copy a 18*9 matrix 6 times to create a 6-D array?
I have tried
R1=repmat(R1_1, [: : 6])
I have also tried
R1(:,:,2)=R1 repeatedly up to 6, no luck

Do you mean?
R1=rand(18,9) % Example
R2=reshape(repmat(R1,1,6),18,9,6)
