How can I access the current working directory history from the command line in MATLAB 7.7 (R2008b)?

I would like to be able to access the current working directory history from the command line.

There ability to access the current working directory history from the command line is not available in MATLAB 7.7 (R2008b)

As a workaround, the mouse can be used to accessed the current working directory history from the drop down menu at the top of the MATLAB desktop.
