I think the answers in your test suite are incorrect. If "peak value of a sine wave" (X) and "peak value of a square wave" (Y) are understood to be defined consistently, then (given equal RMS voltage) Y should be found as "X divided by sqrt(2)", not as "X multiplied by sqrt(2)".
