MathWorks Finance and Operations team is looking for an experienced, hands-on, and collaborative individual to manage Revenue accounting and controls (RAC) Finance Operations within EMEA. This individual will oversee all EMEA operations related to revenue recognition, invoicing and reporting and will work collaboratively with the European Controllers in a matrix organization to support the EMEA Finance operations. The Revenue Operations Manager will have 4 direct reports and have responsibility for up to 10 indirect reports throughout EMEA.

The person will report to the Local Senior Finance Manager with a dotted line to Finance Managers throughout Europe. The person will partner with them to provide operational guidance to Sales Management of a €uro 400 million +, growing organization. The individual must possess solid management and financial systems skills as well as intercultural experience. The position will be based in Galway, Ireland.

Responsibilities

The Revenue Operations Manager must be passionate, hands-on, a champion of technology, and willing to maintain the daily focus of managing a Quote to Cash Cycle (quoting, order entry, tax, revenue, bill, collections, etc.). The Revenue Operations Manager will be involved in both the day-to-day operations and development and oversight responsibilities of the organization including: 

  • Team Management: Actively recruit, screen, and hire new team members in EMEA. Develop a scalable, dynamic team through onboarding and career development programs.  Create and manage a regional capacity model that will support the hiring plan in EMEA.
  • Financial Systems Liaison: Identify workflow improvements with the Financial Systems Team, address inefficiencies, and support RAC testing and training for system updates.
  • Internal Controls: Evaluate and enhance internal controls, identify deficiencies, and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Regularly meet with peer groups (e.g., Sales, Customer Support, Financial Systems, WW RAC managers) to improve communication, feedback, and workflows. Continuously seek process improvements and waste reduction.
  • Performance Management: Utilize standard metrics (e.g., SLA, AR Portfolio, Account Management) to manage team performance.
  • Cross-Regional Collaboration: Work with NA (Natick) and APAC teams to solve problems and recommend process improvements. Develop local and regional resources for cross-border work.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or equivalent experience) is required. 2 years management experience is required.

Additional Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience with operations in a high technology software industry and should have supported an externally facing sales organization. 5+ years of Management experience is a plus.
  • He / she will be a Qualified Accountant or CPA
  • Should be fluent in English, additional language a plus.
  • Previous experience in supporting a field sales operation in the High-Tech industry.

Skills:

  • Experience with order management, accounts receivables, sales operations, revenue reporting
  • Proven management experience including performance measurement and hiring
  • Working with a virtual team
  • Understanding and exposure to ERP systems, including GL and CRM.
  • Proven knowledge of sales administration and operations.
  • Use of analytical and data mining tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Good judgment based on solid business acumen.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with multi-cultural business.
