Controlling Instruments Through Communication Protocols and Instrument Drivers
Instrument Control Toolbox supports use of any instrument from any manufacturer directly from MATLAB and Simulink, provided that the instrument meets one of the following criteria:
- Supports one of these communication protocols: GPIB, VISA, TCP/IP, UDP, or serial
- Has one of these drivers: IVI, VXIplug&play, or a MATLAB instrument driver
- Conforms to the LXI specification
The toolbox provides the Test & Measurement Tool, which lets you communicate with, configure, and transfer data with your instrument without writing code. The tool generates MATLAB code for an instrument, which you can reuse later to communicate with your instrument or to develop a graphical application.
Controlling and Acquiring Data from Other Devices
Data Acquisition Toolbox enables MATLAB and Simulink users to control and acquire data from sound cards and data acquisition hardware from CONTEC, Data Translation, National Instruments, and other data acquisition device manufacturers.
