Pre-6G physical channel descrambling

Since R2026b

    Description

    Add-On Required: This feature requires the 6G Exploration Library for 5G Toolbox add-on.

    descrambled = pre6GDescramble(carrier,ch,cw) descrambles soft bits for 6G research and prototyping. The function generates a signed pseudorandom binary sequence (PRBS) with values +1 and –1 and multiplies it element-wise with the input soft bits cw.

    example

    Examples

    collapse all

    Create carrier and physical channel configuration objects.

    carrier = pre6GCarrierConfig(NCellID=42);
    ch = pre6GPhysicalChannelConfig(Modulation="QPSK");

    Generate random codeword bits for a batch size of three, scramble, modulate, demodulate, then descramble to recover soft bits.

    cw = randi([0 1],624,3);
    scrambled = pre6GScramble(carrier,ch,cw);
    sym = pre6GSymbolModulate(ch,scrambled);
    softbits = pre6GSymbolDemodulate(ch,sym,0.5);

    Descramble the soft bits and verify that hard decisions on the descrambled bits recover the original bits.

    descrambled = pre6GDescramble(carrier,ch,softbits);
    recovered = descrambled < 0;
    isequal(recovered,cw)

    Input Arguments

    collapse all

    Carrier configuration parameters for a specific OFDM numerology, specified as a pre6GCarrierConfig object. This function uses only the NCellID property of the pre6GCarrierConfig object.

    Physical channel configuration parameters, specified as a pre6GPhysicalChannelConfig object. This function uses only the ScramblerInitialization property of the pre6GPhysicalChannelConfig object. If empty, the function uses carrier.NCellID as the PRBS initialization value.

    Soft bits to descramble, specified as a real matrix of size G-by-B or a dlarray object. G is the codeword length and B is the batch size. Values are log-likelihood ratios (LLRs).

    Data Types: single | double

    Output Arguments

    collapse all

    Descrambled soft bits, returned as a real matrix of size G-by-B, or, if cw is a dlarray, as a dlarray object.G is the codeword length and B is the batch size. The output inherits the data type from the input cw.

    Data Types: single | double
