Choose Blocks and Mathematical Models
Simscape™ Electrical™ libraries often contain several blocks that can model the same type of device but make different modeling assumptions. Low-fidelity models focus on the essential dynamics of your system, enabling faster simulation and simpler parameterization, while high-fidelity models provide more detailed results. To increase simulation speed and simplify the design process, choose a block with only as much detail as you need to answer your engineering design questions.
Topics
- Choose Blocks to Model Electrical Systems
Use Simscape Electrical block libraries to model and analyze electronics, mechatronics, and electrical power systems.
- Choose Blocks to Model Power Electronic Converters
Select a prebuilt converter block or discrete components to model your converter topology at the level of fidelity you need to meet your simulation goals.
- Choose Blocks to Model Semiconductor Devices
Select a block to model your semiconductor device at the level of fidelity you need to meet your simulation goals and parameterize the block.
- Choose Blocks to Model Motors or Actuators
Select a block to model your type of motor or actuator at the level of fidelity you need to meet your simulation goals.
- Choose Blocks to Model Transformers
Select a block for your application with the correct component behavior as a function of frequency.
- Model Cables and Lines in Simscape
Determine whether you need a delay-based, lumped-parameter, or distributed model and select a block that uses that model to represent your conductor arrangement.
