Matlab 2013b on OS X 10.9 hangs

I just installed Matlab 2013b on OS X 10.9 and it generally works but if I open the help browser I can use it some time before it gets stuck. Then I cannot do anything else as forcing Matlab to close. My Java Version is 1.6.0_65. Does anyone have the same problem or an idea how to solve this?
