how to track data variables when doing stats analysis

Hi there, for an experiment I got subjects to rate faces through a likert scale system (1-9 but only 5 faces). Each face had one of the different manipulations (5) upon each presentation, and each block had 20 presentations (total of 100 unique faces, 20 with each manipulation but randomized in blocks). The faces each have an assigned number as they are from a database and these numbers are randomly scattered in the data.
What I want to do is plot a histogram and on the x axis have each face by number and on the y axis have their rating as an average of all of the subjects' ratings of that particular face. This will tell me if there are any trends with specific faces having a strong effect on preference, as reflected in the ratings.
How do I write the code to track each individual face number in all of the subjects' data in order to plot it against the average ratings?
