Image RGB Tiff to spatially referenced tiff

Hi, I have a tif file that has only image data meaning its intensity values range from 0.5-0.8. I want to spatially reference this image using the spatial reference information extracted from a clipped 24 bit Ikonos image. How do you write an image which is the tif file with this extracted spatial reference?
