how can we write matlab code fr a projection keyboard?

we are planning to implement a projection keyboard as our project.our faculty told us tat we can write code thru matlab bt v r nt successful in finding a code for projection keyboard in matlab.v wud use a sensor or a cam,a projector n any optical source in it.so shud we search fr separate codes??
