Select wanted range xlsread

Hello,

Using xlsread(filename,-1), I am able to select and get the data of an excel file.

Is there a way to get the sheet name and the data range where I took the data ? I am using MATLAB 2007b.

Please read "doc xlsread" for your MATLAB version. In 2009a you'd find this:

 6. Get data from a specified region in a named sheet:
    NUMERIC = xlsread('c:\matlab\work\myspreadsheet','NBData','a2:j5')

Yes I know how to get the data.

I want to know how to get the data range and sheet name, when using the -1 parameter which opens an interactive Excel window for selecting data.
