Need to use Matlab debugger with JVM, but getting a SIGSTOP

Hello,
I am trying to get a matlab package running (package available here: http://nato.gfz.hr/Software.html It's the ModelHSVR v3.4). I am having problems and would like to use the matlab debugger. When I try to use the debugger with the JVM I get: (lldb) process launch -s Process 14323 launched: '/Applications/MATLAB_R2014b.app/bin/maci64/../../Contents/MacOS/MATLAB_maci64' (x86_64) Process 14323 stopped * thread #1: tid = 0x331d16, 0x00007fff5fc01028 dyld`_dyld_start, stop reason = signal SIGSTOP frame #0: 0x00007fff5fc01028 dyld`_dyld_start dyld`_dyld_start: -> 0x7fff5fc01028: popq %rdi 0x7fff5fc01029: pushq $0x0 0x7fff5fc0102b: movq %rsp, %rbp 0x7fff5fc0102e: andq $-0x10, %rsp
If I try to run w/ -noJVM I get:
>> ModelHVSR Error using open (line 162) This functionality is no longer supported under the -nojvm startup option. For more information, see "Changes to -nojvm Startup Option" in the MATLAB Release Notes. To view the release note in your system browser, run web('http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/release-notes.html#btsurqv-6', '-browser').
Error in ModelHVSR (line 4) open ampspektarHVSR.fig
I am running OSX Mavericks and Matlab r2014b.
Any ideas?
Thanks! Kimberly
