Did something change with the current Raspbian release that causes issues with the hardware setup tool for the Matlab Support Package for Raspberry Pi ?

Hi there,
Last December I sucessfully updated the Raspbian release on my Pi with the hardware setup tool and was running Simulink models on it. For reasons I had to reinstall Raspbian and now when I run the tool to update the OS with Matlab required packages, it fails on 2 of them, and no longer can run simulink models or view the Pi in the resouce monitor app.
I wonder if there is something that needs to update with Matlab to keep pace with Raspbian? I've tried with 2021a and 2021b with no luck.
I don't really want to use the Mathworks Raspbian release, as I have already installed other packages on this new instance of the OS.

Thanks for any input,

I found that when I went back to Raspbian based off of Buster (10) things worked correctly. Mathworks must need to update a few things to work with Birdseye (11).

I also found that after installing software plugins for hardware from other companies (Adafruit, Pimoroni, etc), the Raspberry Pi Resource Monitor would no longer work as well as the connection between Simulink and the Pi. So something must get screwed up during those installs.
