Can I use my MATLAB Home license to submit to a MATLAB Parallel Server on EC2 cluster?

A MATLAB Home license cannot be used with an Amazon EC2 cluster. You must have an academic or a professional MATLAB license with Parallel Computing Toolbox in order to submit to a EC2 cluster.
NOTE: Starting in R2019a the following name changes occurred:
  • MATLAB Distributed Computing Server was renamed to MATLAB Parallel Server
  • mdce_def was renamed to mjs_def
  • mdce binary was renamed to mjs
