IQ plotting of data from Tektronix instrument

I have a complex variable Y which contains IQ data from a tektronix instrument. This is a 16QAM 312.5MHz symbol rate. I am trying to use the comm.RectangularQAMModulator('ModulationOrder',M); and perform the step step(hMod,Y); . This function needs a scalar input. Need help in plotting the constellation diagram.
