Changing the license that RoadRunner can be done by managing the license files in RoadRunner's licenses folder. This folder's location varies depending on your License Offering. Follow the instructions below depending on the License Offering you are using.

Users with Individual licenses

Windows
  1. Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard at the same time.
  2. In the newly open window called "Run" type in the following and then press Enter on your keyboard when finished: %appdata%
  3. Navigate into the RoadRunner folder
  4. Navigate into the folder with the release of RoadRunner you're using (ex: R2024a)
  5. Navigate into the Licenses folder. From here, you can manage your installed licenses depending on the license files you have present.
If you need to create a new license file you may do so from the License Center.
Linux
  1. Navigate into the directory ~/.local/share/MathWorks/RoadRunner
  2. From here, navigate into the directory with your RoadRunner release number (ex: R2024a)
  3. Navigate into the Licenses folder. From here, you can manage your installed licenses depending on the license files you have present.
If you need to create a new license file you may do so from the License Center.

Users with network-based licenses

  1. Navigate to where RoadRunner is installed (ex: C:\Program Files\RoadRunner R2024a)
  2. Once you are in the installation folder, navigate into the "bin" folder and then into a folder named either "win64" or "glnxa64"
  3. Navigate into a folder named "licenses". If it doesn't already exist, you may create it now.
  4. Place the network.lic or license.dat into this folder.
If you need to create a new license file you may do so from the License Center.
