How to make arrays elements of a cell array?

After unsuccessful attempts and the tempting by one of the answers I find myself more and more considering the option of having arrays as elements of a cell array.
Unfortunately, trying out every cell function has yielded
Undefined function or method 'num2cel' for input arguments of type 'double
Therefore is there a for dummies way of doing this?. Thanks for any replies!

Sometimes it is the little things which you trip over. was trying to get it to work for 30 min at least.
