How to determine the target data during creating neural network using nntool?

Hi, I am new to Matlab, currently I am doing a project to recognize the signature. My input data is logical which i obtained from an image file. But here is my problem, I don't know how should the output looks like, so how do I import a target data to the network? I am really expecting any reply. Thank you.
