I installed MATLAB R 2015b on Ubuntu 14.04 successfully, but whenever I try to execute it, this message appears. What should I do?

It appears to me that you might have set your TMPDIR environment directory to somewhere under your ~/.matlab/R2015b but that you have denied access to that directory.

Another possibility is that under Linux it chooses to substitute that TMPDIR for some reason.

In any case, check the permissions of your ~/.matlab/R2015b and ensure that processes run by you have write access there.

In another thread I saw someone reporting that in their Ubuntu 14.04 installation, their ~/.matlab directory ended up being owned by someone else. Make sure yours is owned by you.
