I use the publish function and it keeps publishing without stopping

So I am trying to output my code as well as the output of my code into a pdf file, kind of like how RStudio does it but with MATLAB instead. But I try to use the publish function and it just keeps popping up new figures infinitely without actually outputting a pdf file. My code is very simple, just outputting one graph. I want the pdf file to basically have my code on there as well as my graph. I am on a mac, what am I doing wrong?
