Does HDL Coder tie to particular FPGA board?

I was researching HDL coder and found a "HDL Coder IP Core Board Support Packages" in github. That leads me to wonder whether the HDL Coder is tailored for particular FPGA boards? I don't have the tool nor any FPGA boards to test it out. I also saw it's able to generate code targetting ASIC. Are there any open source code repositories where I can assess the capabilities of HDL Coder by comparing the Matlab and generated HDL codes?
