Can I use simpson's 1/3 rule to calculate area under graph for imported data?

Hi I have written a function (Composite Simpson's 1/3 rule) and I need to use the function to integrate to get the area under the curve by using two sets of data ( x-axis and y-axis). How do I do it? If so, then what should my function, and upper limit and lower limit be?
