I have some Matlab code to compute data in Excel. It took about one hour to compute the date of some period. 1. Any suggestion to improve computing time? 2. Which kind of programming language can I rewrite to from Matlab code?

Only if you currently have a loop of xlsread() of a lot of files. 10 minutes would be more plausible.

Upgrade to R2015b; or use xlsread1() from the File Exchange

Use the profile to find the part of the code, which consumes the most time. Then post the relevant part of the code together with meaningful test data, such that we can run it by copy&paste. Without seeing the code it is impossible to guess if it can be accelerated by a factor 12.
