Data passing between multiple different GUIs on GUIDE

I have several GUIs and i need to pass data amongst it. Each GUI manipulates the data and sets a new value for the variable. I want to know how i can pass these variables between different GUIs so that the new value is updated automatically on all the GUIs. And also how can i pass variable data which have not been manipulated? I assume both the cases will require the same coding. Someone please help!!

Allows me to pass the between GUIs but i can't manipulate them. I think they are string values of the data i want. I've tried using str2num and str2double but i can't perform any operations on the called back values.
Help anyone!!
