parfor stalls (stucks) with Matlab 2015a but not with 2018a

Hi,
I have a Matlab .m file running parfor. When I use Matlab 2015a, it gets stuck at around 45% finished of the loop. It is repeatable like this when I tried different times. When I checked Windows task manager, percent of CPU usage when this is happening dropped down to 0-1%. Memory usage is <30%. Ctrl+C does not work to break the program when this is happening.
I rerun the code with Matlab 2018a and this problem goes away, the code runs through. What do you think the root cause and is there any issue/bug that I should resolve?
