Importing signal description field from Autosar XML

Hello,
I am trying build a report for a Simulink model that has been created using the Autosar support package (v16.2.5) with 2016b. The idea is to extract the description field DESC after the arxml has been imported. The description field is imported for Parameters, but I cannot find that information for signals. The description field in inports/outports is empty, and signals are not defined in the data dictionary nor the base workspace.
I know I can import the information from the arxml itself, but since I am already using the description stored in the data dictionary for Parameters, I would like to know if that information is stored somehow in MATLAB/Simulink.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you a lot in advance.
