Laptop crashing when opening matlab in Gui mode ( watch dog error)

I have a HP envy x360 Ryzen 2500u vega8 integrated graphics
I cant run matlab in GUI mode in linux (runs well with -nojvm option)
it causes system freeze and says watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 30s! [MATLAB:29613]

Which version of Matlab and Linux? Did it run before you made some changes? If so, which changes? Which Java version is used and did you modify it? When does the system freeze?

Bug with keyword watchdog was not encountered before in MATLAB. From a quick investigation that does look like a problem between Ryzen and Linux. I would suggest checking Ubuntu forum:
