Looking to buy new laptop and want to ensure matlab/simulink is supported on the Miscrosoft Surface Pro X.

Hi, what is Matlab strategy regarding the incoming Apple Silicon ARM architecture? Will Matlab be updated for full compatibility with the new generation of Macs? Did Matlab/Mathworks issue a statement about this?
There is also the question about the incompatibility with CUDA, what are the plans for Matlab?
What computer should we buy to be sure to be able to use matlab in the following years (beside a Intel or AMD on Windows)?
Thank you!

R2020b already has no Mac support for CUDA.
... I have been nagging Mathworks about this. But their options are limited as the CUDA support requires drivers from Nvidia that do not exist after High Sierra.
Nvidia got out of the Apple market as they were not able to come to an agreement with Apple.
My understanding is that there is some blame on both sides, but most of it seems to be on Apple's side.
The changes in security on Apple's part apparently would make it necessary to include the complete CUDA and video drivers as part of every application that wanted to use them, so that the complete application with all drivers could have its security verified. The claimed intention is to reduce security problems that are introduced by attacking the drivers from one application, affecting other applications that use the same drivers. This is a dubious prospect: now if a security system is found in common code, every single application that uses the driver will need to be updated independently, which is not going to happen.
Claims have been made that the real intent is to drive most third party software developers out of the market, leaving only partnerships with larger developers for Apple branded software (that Apple gets an even larger cut on than their current 30%)

I have been running 2020b just fine no the Surface Pro X with the x64 emulation. There are a couple of things that don't work, mainly related to graphics, but most of my Matlab code runs fine, and very fast. I run the parallel processing toolbox, and get a nearly 8x bump with some simple benchmark tests on algorithms that parallelize well.

need 32-bit version of MATLAB. tried 64-bit MATLAB, report this version cannot be installed on surface pro x.

R2015b was the last 32 bit MATLAB, and it is considered quite unlikely that Mathworks will ever produce another 32 bit version. The recommended minimum memory for MATLAB now exceeds the maximum capacity of 32 bit Windows machines.
Microsoft offers an x64 emulationfor ARM. It apparently does not work well at all yet.
