Input from batch file

i am running a matlab executable(a1.exe) from batch file(.bat file)
i need to pass input argument(I1,I2,I3) from batch file to matlab executable(a1.exe)
I1,I2,I3 are in string data type & defined in batch file(.bat file)
so how pass I1,I2,I3 to matlab executable which is called in .bat file

What exactly does "I1,I2,I3 are in string data type" mean? Are you talking of Windows batch files?
Actually the answer could be:
a1 I1 I2 I3
or
a1 %I1% %I2% %I3%
