Hello Yuri,
you will want to start by learning to use simscape, and then simscape electrical.

Until there is official free training, here is a basic youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsTHCRtUNCA
And here is a list of examples. You can pick an example that includes a synchronous machine being used as a generator to start with: https://www.mathworks.com/help/physmod/sps/examples.html?category=index&s_tid=CRUX_lftnav_example_index
You can then build your protection scheme onto one of the existing examples, or start a new one from scratch.
