How can I plot a patch for each row in matrix (vector-based)?

Hi!
I have a Nx4 matrix and would like to plot a patch (a rectangle) for each row.
It will be used for an animation so a for loop is to slow, is there a way to do this vector based, so that I can later replace Xdata and Ydata?
