I get the following error after downloading and running the installer on windows

Can't create output file _temp_ matlab_R2021a_win64\sys\java\jre\win64\lib\jce.jar

You appear to not have write access to your desktop. You could use the Browse to choose a different folder.

Hi Walter,

Thanks for the reply, I had the option to run the program as an administrator and that had the same problem, (I would assume the administrator would have access). Im also unable to use that browse button because as soon as i close the error message it also shuts down the installer.

The administrator does not have write access to the desktop folders of the users.

Choose a folder outside the user's personal folders.

Did you ever resolve this? Having the same isue right now. Self extractor does not let me change folders either.

@DrewVam55: Move the executable of the installer to another location. Do not start it as administrator from the desktop of a user, because the administrator does not have write privileges there. Move the file e.g. to a new folder on another disk, where the user and the admin can create files.
