MATLAB Function saveas distorts the figures when saving in .eps format

Hi, when I try to save a figure in .eps format the figure gets distorted. The output is nowhere near the expected result. It seems as MATLAB has an own rescaling that saves the figure in the dimensions that it feels fits best.
Is it anyway to disable this?

Did you try to set the PaperPosition manually already?
Asking Google or the forum search the same question will find dozens of equivocal answers: Try the most frequently downloaded tool exportfig from the FileExchange.
