Does the Partial Differential Equation (PDE) Toolbox handle 3-dimensional problems for MATLAB 8.1 (R2013a)?

The PDE Toolbox 1.2 included in MATLAB 8.1 (R2013a) solves only those 3-dimensional problems which can be reduced (by symmetry) to 2 dimensions.
