Why do I receive an error in Simulink when trying to save a diagram using a metafile format?

I have a large Simulink model. I try to print the model to a metafile, but I receive the error:

 Error: Deallocating on Internal color 
 CreateRectRgn, called from ws_CreateClipRegion(), returned NULL

This bug has been fixed for Release 14 (R14). For previous releases, please read below for any possible workarounds:

This has been verified as a bug in MATLAB 6.1 (R12.1) in the way that PRINT handles metafiles.

There are no workarounds.
