As a Senior Sales Account Manager for the Automotive industry, you will sell engineering applications, embedded applications and software/solutions such as data analytics, control design and machine learning and related services like training and consulting to both new and existing customers to make a customer success.  Application areas involve simulation and software development use in ADAS/AD, EV (motor and battery), and various applications requiring use of AI.  You will manage the entire sales process; prospect qualification, proof of concept delivery, and value justification. You will also be responsible for developing and executing strategic territory account plans. This will include working with application engineers, Inside sales and marketing resources as appropriate. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships within existing large accounts and new divisions, locations, and customers
  • Generate new named business by phone, customer visits, and events
  • Develop and manage a funnel of opportunities and activities
  • Collaborate closely with Application Engineering, Technical Marketing, and peer sales teams
  • Document and report sales activities using an advanced CRM tool (Salesforce)
  • Attain monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals for new software license sales and professional services (consulting and product training)
  • Expand MathWorks market presence and reputation within the territory
  • Rigorously prioritize and follow up on all qualified leads provided by Marketing or Sales Support; energetically prospect for new business opportunities within a defined set of named accounts
  • Prepare required sales documentation (e.g., trip reports, proposals, and territory plans)
  • Work closely with potential customers at all levels to understand users, requirements, and management business issues
  • Gain access to and influence the appropriate decision makers to manage any evaluation processes and bring business opportunities to a successful conclusion

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • 5+ years direct sales experience is preferred.
  • Prior high-tech or technical software sales or engineering products experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing business using a CRM system.
  • Proven record of accomplishment and over-achievement of performance objectives.
  • Business level English communication skills in speaking and in writing.
