I made some changes in my code and saved them, but now i would like to return to the previous code and view it, how to do that? i'm using Matlab R2015b

You can restore the previous version of the file from your backup. Under Windows there is the "Previous Version" or "File History" mechanism, under MacOS the TimeMachine is useful. Matlab has an AutoSave mechanism also, check in the preferences, if it is enabled - but this saves the last version only.

If you do not have a backup, the former versions are lost. The rule of thumb is:

File, which are not saved in a backup, are not important.
