Description
Building RF systems that are designed to operate with wideband modulated signals, like 5G and radar, or with a large number of circuits, like active antennas, is challenging. Regarding the simulation accuracy, the limitation is always the quality of the model used by the simulator. Different memory effects can be observed in circuits' behavior, yet models often do not include these characteristics.
VISION is an advanced RF circuit and system modeling solution for accurate RF & MW system design. Being a unique yet comprehensive modeling platform, it makes the system simulation reliable to replace costly measurement tasks of large system architectures. VISION offers a thorough methodology to extract complete and accurate RF & MW circuit behavioral models that account for all observed phenomena: non-linearity, mismatch, and memory effects. It enables leveraging circuit models to design complex system architectures and ensures a reliable bottom-up design flow process. The tool allows exporting a macro-model, named the VISION model, that embeds its equation solver to keep the same precision in system-level simulation.
VISION models can be simulated either through a custom Simulink block or in a MATLAB script. As a custom Simulink block, you can adjust model parameters visually through the Simulink Editor and then verify model behavior in Simulink. With a MATLAB script, you can achieve higher computational efficiency and processing flexibility at the expense of a little more coding. Several built-in functions are provided to properly identify and address VISION model input/output ports and signal types.
