World Robot Olympiad
World Robot Olympiad (WRO®) is an international robotics competition for students aged 8 – 22. Every year, over 20,000 teams from more than 95 countries participate in the different WRO competition categories. Teams can design an autonomous robot that solves challenges on a playfield or have their robots play a sports game against other teams. Advanced teams can also choose to do a challenge that closely resembles real-life robotics. Teams that want to tackle real-world challenges can build and present a working robot-model that helps solve a problem related to the season’s theme. The robots can be built with any materials that fit the category rules, which are mostly open platform. By applying Model-Based Design, students can efficiently design and build a functioning robot using MATLAB and Simulink.
